The changing face of retail

Over the many years that we’ve worked with Landsec, we’ve seen the retail sector evolve, with covid accelerating some of the shifts that were already beginning. Pop-up stores are taking over shop units, bringing independent brands into the mix and adding excitement to the shopping experience.

Lone Design Club at Victoria (pictured below) – open over the summer 2023 – is one example of this; where beauty and lifestyle brands get their chance to shine in a commercial environment. This independent designer concept store has been rolled out at Trinity Leeds and other international locations.

SpaceandPeople is another business that manages ‘Rock up and pop up retail opportunities’ – on average, they book over 240 pop-up retail bookings across 120 UK venues per month. Their creative approach can be seen on their Insta. In-mall kiosks, food trucks, experiential spaces, activations and promotions are engaging customers in different ways.

Sustainable fashion pop-ups, such as We Are Second Life Fashion, and shops selling the wares of makers and artists like Curated Makers Store, are also enticing customers back again and again to see what’s fresh.

The retail landscape is changing and we’re here to support that journey. Get in touch with us if you want to speak to our retail marketing experts about what can make you succeed in this competitive space.
